The maiden voyage of the "Cubist" band—an octet of artists playing music that grew from my studio CD—took place on April 23rd, 2010 at Ryles Jazz Club to a sold out house. With such a line-up of great international and local talent I knew the music and energy would be at its highest level. Professionally recording the release, and a concert at Amazing Things Arts Center, has allowed me to share the music in "Cubist Live". Now into the 30th year of a blessed career in percussion, I am living the dream of realizing my music in the hands of some of the greatest musicians and improvisers of our time. I am indebted to Randy and the band for stepping into the cube, and to you for reliving the experience on this disc.
